Clyde Hat by Ysolda, Fingering to Bulky weight yarn
Available in 6 sizes & 11 gauges
Join us for our next Thursday Knit-Along, the stash busting Clyde Hat by Ysolda. This unique hat is perfect for using up bits & pieces from previous projects in a cool marl. Yarns may be held single or combined to create different color effects.
The hat pattern is swatchless in that it is knit top down from the crown. Once there is enough fabric you simply measure your gauge & match it to the numbers given for your size and gauge!
The pattern is also flexible in that it has knitting instructions for 6 sizes from baby to adult extra large, as well as fingering to bulky weight gauge.
Here is what you will need:
- 76-300 yards (100-120g) fingering-bulky weight yarn is enough for any of the size/gauge combinations
- Knit yarn alone or combine 2 strands for marled color effects. Change yarn colors as you knit to use up bits & create a unique color fade.
- Size 16” circular & double point needles
- Choose a needle size based on your knowledge of your personal tension and the recommended needle size for your yarn.
- If using sock yarn use a needle a couple of sizes larger than you would use for socks.
