How to Knit a Gauge Swatch

Yes, it takes a bit of time, but knitting a gauge swatch will ensure that knits fit, look & drape better. During the demo you will learn when & why to knit a gauge swatch, as well as how to knit a swatch both flat & in the round. We will then cover the important step of blocking the swatch. Finally, the demo will conclude with how to measure a swatch & interpret the results.

 

How to Knit Small Circumferences with Magic Loop

Magic Loop is an alternative technique to double point needles for knitting small circumferences in the round. Bring scrap yarn & a 32”-40” circular needle to learn how to do this “magical” technique.

 

Wet Blocking a Sweater: Live Demonstration

There will be water! There will be fiber wash! See each step of the wet blocking method, learn how to use all of those cool blocking tools & get some great tips.

 

Basics of Stranded Colorwork

There are so many gorgeous knitting patterns that use stranded colorwork to create beautiful multi-colored designs. It is often showcased in Scandinavian designs, as well as many modern knits. In this demo you will learn about floats, float tension, color dominance, as well as how to do two-handed, one-handed Continental & one-handed English stranded colorwork.
