Kitchener Stitch Demonstration
Thursday, September 7, 6pm
There is nothing like wearing a pair of hand knit socks! Many sock patterns use a technique called the Kitchener Stitch to create a smooth toe seam. The technique can be tricky if you have not done it before. At this discussion & demonstration, you will learn about the Kitchener Stitch, when to use it & tips for remembering the steps. Our knowledgeable instructor will then do a live demonstration to show the set-up, as well as each step of the stitch.
Homework & Supplies: None needed, discussion & demonstration only
Provisional Cast-on Interactive Workshop
Saturday, September 16, 11am
The Provisional Cast-on is a very cool & useful technique that leaves live stitches at the cast-on edge. It is found in a variety of patterns including sweater collars & cowls, allowing the knitter to resume knitting in the opposite direction or create an invisible seam.
In this interactive workshop you will learn when the Provisional cast-on is used, view a demonstration & then have a hands-on opportunity to practice. We will also demonstrate how to remove the cast-on from a piece.
Homework & Supplies:
