There is nothing better than slipping your foot into a handknit sock! Sock knitting is more fun than ever with all of the exciting choices of hand-dyed, solid & self-patterning sock yarns. We love socks & have been curating a large collection of different sock yarns to inspire creativity.
Some of our favorite socks yarns are Cascade Heritage Prints a self-patterning yarn that magically produces a colorwork inspired or stripe pattern as you knit. This yarn is also fun for baby sweaters & hats. Berroco Sox & West Yorkshire Spinners 4-Ply are also interesting self-patterning sock yarns.
Solid sock yarns are definitely not boring, especially when knitting textures, cables or color block designs. Some great choices for mix and match solids are CoopKnits Socks Yeah!, Lang Jawoll, & Cascade Heritage.
Last, but not least are the hand-dyed sock yarns. Each skein is a unique work of art that knits into deeply hued tonal & dramatic variegated socks. Some of our favorites include Hedgehog Fibres Sock, Madelinetosh Twist Light, Leading Men Show Stopper, Cascade Heritage Paints & Mrs. Crosby Loves to Play Train Case.
There are many sock patterns out there, but here are a few ideas to start a sock knitting journey. Also check out “52 Weeks of Socks” for the ultimate collection of beautiful sock patterns.
