Feature Pattern of the Week - Brunstane

Brunstane by Ysolda Teague
Rauma Petter
Let the worries melt away while relaxing with a rhythmic, stranded colorwork project. Brunstane by Ysolda Teague is a gorgeous, colorwork cowl that is fun & interesting for more seasoned knitters, yet simple enough for those just beginning their journey.
The cowl is a simple tube, knit in the round, that has a flare at the shoulders ingeniously achieved by a needle change. There is also a clear foreground and background pattern, making it easy to tell which color you should be using. The pattern repeat is only eight stitches, so you can find your rhythm.
The cowl is knit in DK weight Rauma Petter, a soft, 100% superwash wool that is a pleasure to knit with & blocks nicely. For an even softer version, try Rauma Mitu, a blend of wool & alpaca.
To knit the cowl you will need size US 6 & 7, 24” circular needles. If your ribbing tends to be loose, then use the smaller needle for the bottom ribbing & a size US 5 for the top ribbing. Here are the colors Ysolda used for her cowls:
Rauma Petter: 2 balls MC, 2 balls C1, 1 ball C2
Neutral
MC: 302 White, C1: 310 Charcoal Heather, C2: 304 Grey Heather

The pattern is available to purchase in store and online.

Happy Knitting!
