We love to lighten things up in the summer with breezy knits in breathable cotton yarns.
The Piddock Shawl by designer Chloe Thurlow has a fun, casual beachy vibe & can be worn with a variety of outfits. The shawl has a soft & pleasant hand being knit in Rowan Denim Revive.
The DK weight yarn is supple & soft like perfectly worn-in t-shirt & jeans...and in a way it is! The yarn is spun with recycled denim & cotton; lending a tweedy, heathered effect that gives stitches beautiful dimension.
The triangle shawl is knit seamlessly from the bottom up & uses the intarsia technique to create the cool color block look. Since the shawl only uses two colors (one on each half of the shawl), this is a great piece for beginners to try intarsia, as the piece is simple & straightforward. When you are ready to switch to the other color, simply drop the strand you were knitting, then begin knitting with the other color, making sure to just twist the strands around each other on the wrong side of the fabric to close the gap. Ta-da! Intarsia!
The kit includes 8 balls of Rowan Denim Revive (4 x Stonewash, 4 x Indigo) & the Rowan Blue Denim pattern booklet that includes the Piddock Shawl pattern, as well as 3 additional Rowan patterns. The kit requires size US 6, 40” circular needles (not included in kit).
