Feature Pattern of the Week - Timbo Vest

Timbo Vest by Gabriella Calderini, Manos del Uruguay Cardo,
colors Goldenrod & Pumpkin
Enjoy the versatility of the knit Timbo vest by Gabriella Calderini. So much fun to style, the vest may be worn with a short or long sleeve top & jeans or even over a long skirt or dress.
The vest is knit in Manos del Uruguay Cardo, a plump, round bulky weight yarn spun from 100% Corriedale wool. Corriedale sheep have a dense fleece that produces a warm & durable, yet soft yarn. The round, tight twist of Cardo is ideal for warm garments & accessories. Textured stitch patterns & cables look divine in this yarn.
We also love that Manos del Uruguay is a non-profit organization that was founded to give women jobs, allowing them to be independent & support their families while being able to live in their home villages.
Timbo is appropriate for beginners & is knit top-down, in the round with an attractive broken rib stitch. Knitting it top-down also means it is easy to add additional length if desired. The piece knits up quickly on size US 10.5 needles, so it can be finished in time to be added to an autumn wardrobe.
