Feature Pattern of the Week - Yarn Love from Montana

Tenderfoot Socks by Aimee Alexander,
Polka Dot Sheep Tenderfoot 80/20

Inspired by the jaw dropping scenery of Montana, each hank of Polka Dot Sheep yarn is expertly hand dyed in Whitefish, Montana. Tenderfoot 80/20 is a popular fingering weight, sock yarn spun with a soft, yet durable blend of superwash Merino wool & nylon.

From complex variegated colorways to earthy tonals, each hank of Tenderfoot delivers crisp stitch definition & deep, rich color saturation. The yarn is wonderful for everything from socks to hats, gloves & cowls.

The Tenderfoot Sock pattern by Aimee Alexander is perfect for those who are new to sock knitting or would just like a simple, basic, cuff-down sock to knit. The smooth stockinette is perfect for showcasing Polka Dot Sheep’s hand dyed colorways!

The pattern has wonderful step-by-step instructions & can be used to make everything from newborn to adult sizes. The Merino wool feels fantastic to wear, while nylon gives the socks durability.

To knit the socks you will need 1 skein of Polka Dot Sheep Tenderfoot 80/20, as well as Size US 1.5 double point needles or preferred needles for knitting small circumferences (the pattern is written for Magic Loop, but using DPN’s is no problem).

Another fun pattern for the yarn is the Crandell Wrap by Aimee Alexander. Worked sideways with a combination of eyelet lace & knit/purl textures, the piece features 2 colors (1 skein each) of Tenderfoot 80/20. Create a tone on tone look with a variegated & a tonal or go all out with bold contrast. The wrap requires a Size US 3, 16”-24” circular needle (knit flat).
