Wool & Co. Feature Pattern of the Week - Avana

Warm weather is not too far away….begin knitting now to have the Avana shrug in time for summer vacation! Avana by Annie Rowden is worked at a loose gauge for an airy fabric with wonderful drape. It can be worn as a shrug or folded in half to serve as a shawlette or scarf. The beautiful lace trim is an easy to follow, 8-row pattern.

With seamless construction, the project is surprisingly fast, requiring 640 yards of DK weight yarn (5 skeins Luma), US 8 & US 10.5, 24” circular needles, set of US 8 double point needles, & a spare needle slightly smaller than US 10.5 needle.

The pattern is available to purchase in store or on Ravelry.

The staff at Wool & Co. highly recommends The Fibre Company Luma for this project.  Luma is a soft, airy blend of organic cotton, Merino wool, linen, & silk with lovely drape.  Stop by the store or browse online to see the newest colors added to the Luma palette.

Happy Knitting!
