Dapple is a velvety soft blend of 20.7-micron, Colorado Merino wool & Texas-grown organic cotton. The yarn is woolen spun for a lofty hand & rustic appearance. However, the most striking aspect of this yarn is the dyeing process.
Dapple is tonal-dyed, which means that each skein within a dye lot has variations of color & texture for a “dappled”, tonal color effect. Mix subtle shades within the colorway to create fades, ombres & depth of color in the knit fabrics you create. In addition to producing a gorgeous yarn, Brooklyn Tweed is donating 3% of all Dapple profits to the National Black Farmers Association.
This is truly a unique yarn that will spark your creativity!
*Orders of multiple skeins will receive a range of tones in the same dye lot. Please note that due to the tonal-dyeing process of Dapple, there is a wide range of tones within a single colorway & dye lot. This is intentional & is how Dapple knits into a tonal, “dappled” fabric.
**Knitting with Dapple: For best results, alternate skeins as you transition from one to the next. This is as you would for hand-dyed yarns to blend various tones & create a visually cohesive fabric. For more information on knitting & caring for Dapple, please read the “Meet Dapple” guide.
